Hey pretty gals! Since I’ve been on this reading frenzy the past couple months, I’ve had a lot of you ask about what I’m currently reading and if I loved it or not. So, I’m going to list them right here and tell ya! That way you have something to look back to if I post it in my insta-story and then it’s gone in 24 hours. I hope I can give you some good recommendations! As I continue this reading craze, I’ll add new ones and probably make a separate section here on the blog that you can come to whenever you need a new book idea 🙂
Captivating by Stasi and John Eldredge- MY ALL TIME FAVE BOOK. This is a must read for every gal. Trust me.
Wild at Heart by John Eldredge- Adored this one too. This is the men’s version of Captivating. I thought it was going to be a little boring because, well, I’m not a dude, but I loved it. If you’re dating, newly married or have been married for years, you have to read this one.
Present over Perfect by Shauna Niequist- This one is all about leaving behind our frantic lifestyles for more purposeful, soulful, present ones, which is totally something we all need. The writing wasn’t my absolute favorite but would still recommend it!
Love Does by Bob Goff- MUST READ! Super inspiring and funny. I’m literally in love with Bob Goff. If you have big dreams and are scared to go after them, Bob will make you want to change the world right after you read the first chapter.
Daring Greatly by Brene Brown- This is an amazing self improvement book that everyone needs to read. It’s all about vulnerability and how being vulnerable will change your life for the better. Super good!
The Best Yes by Lysa Terkeurst- Every girl must read this book! If you’re like me and can never say no and are constantly worried about disappointing people, then this is the book for you. Lysa helps you (and me) figure out what decisions are wise, when to say yes and when to say no AND she backs it up with scripture. Oh, and she’s hilarious. Read it. Now.
Uninvited by Lysa Terkeurst- I’ll be honest, I didn’t think this book would do much for me because I don’t normally feel uninvited or left out. But holy moly, it did! If you’ve ever felt rejected by parents, friends, jobs, the church, boyfriends or anybody/anything else, this is a soul healer. It’s the same author as The Best Yes, so you still get the scriptures backing everything up and the humor.
Real Marriage by Mark and Grace Driscoll- Ok, this one Dan and I tried reading together and only made it through the first few chapters. I had no problem with their openness and honestly about ‘taboo’ Christian topics but felt their biblical outlook didn’t line up with what we believe about Jesus. Probably won’t finish it.
I hope I gave you some good ideas! All of these books are well worth the read. I’ll share new ones as I keep reading 🙂 Oh, and let me know if you all have any good book recommendations or if you liked/disliked any of the ones I just shared. Happy reading!
