Being content when life feels out of control

Peace. Yep, it’s one of the greatest gifts God has given us but also one of the hardest to feel on an everyday basis. We’re always thinking about tomorrow, the next year or that next big milestone we want to reach that we rob the joy out of what’s happening right in front of us. Or maybe we think that once we achieve this or that, then we’ll have peace and be content.

When life seems out of control, stagnant, not exactly what you thought it would be or maybe you feel like God isn’t listening to what you’ve been praying for, it can seriously feel impossible to have peace in that season of life. I’ve been there and thought, uh yeah right, I don’t have one ounce of peace in this body haha. I know for me, figuring out who I was and what my purpose was on this earth drove me absolutely nuts. I thought there was no stinken way I could or would be content until I had a fulfilling career, I made my own hours, I had an awesome husband (which I do, so woohoo God, you answered that one), I made good money (like a million or so, nothing too crazy) and took care of animals in my free time while eating lots of snacks and I never had to worry about getting fat. See, my list wasn’t so bad 😉 God doesn’t work that way though. We think we know what we want but only He knows what we need.

Having that peace and feeling content in a season of learning or change is exactly what we need though. God knows what everyday will hold! He knows that every second of every day is going to change you into the human being you were put on this earth to be. I mean, think about that! It’s almost impossible to wrap our minds around because it’s so amazing. Nope, not everyday is going to feel like dancing on a rainbow, eating oodles of donuts. Some days are going to seem boring, stressful and confusing. But you can have peace knowing that those boring days will turn into fulfilling ones and those confusing days will turn into empowering days. When you go through seasons of learning, change or God is maybe just calling you to take time and relax, He is still working. You may think this downtime is for nothing, but just know God is preparing you for something so amazing, you can’t even begin to fathom what that may be.

Every season in life is for a specific purpose. God makes no mistakes. If you’re in a ‘blah’ season of life, trust and know that God has some amazing, kick booty things right around the corner! & have peace during that downtime knowing that He’s preparing you for the kick booty times. Wake up everyday and know that this day is preparing you for the future, the future God wants for you, the future that’ll make all the craziness this life throws at you make sense.

I hope you all have the Merriest Christmas!! I love ya lots! xoxo
