Waking up to this view was incredible! We kind of snuck down here late at night to wake up to the sunrise, and it was totally worth it
That 1988 van looks pretty good, huh?

My forever adventure buddy

Dan and I had no idea how beautiful Upper State New York is! I mean, it’s incredible! If you love hiking, waterfalls and the mountains, you will love the places we went. We stopped at Watkins Glen first and actually camped in Watkins Glen State Park. There were bathrooms and showers and it was a first come first serve type campground that we stayed at. **Side note**- if you want to camp with your pups at any NY State Park, make sure you bring proof that they’ve had their rabies shot. Every NY State Park required that. Ok, back to the good stuff. You HAVE to hike Gorge Trail, Indian Trail Loop when you stop at Watkins Glen- SO GORGEOUS. It’s definitely a tourist destination, so be prepared for lots of people. Don’t worry though, the views make it worth it!

Next, we stopped at Green Lakes State Park which was another cool, clean campsite with two of the most gorgeous green/blue lakes! We stayed here for a night and hiked Green Lake to Round Lake. Trust me when I say these are two of the most beautiful lakes you will ever see! Definitely worth seeing.

Our longest stay was in the Adirondack Mountains. We stayed at Drapers Acres Campground in Lake Placid, NY which had bathrooms, showers and power, woo! This campground was in the middle of everything- such a great spot. One of our favorite hikes the entire trip was climbing Mt Van Hoevenberg. The hike was pretty hard, but the views at the summit were breathtaking. We also hiked Mt Meade to Mt Beckman near Lake George, NY which is also a really pretty hike and easier than hiking Mt Van Hoevenberg. Next time we stop in the Adirondacks we want to hike Mt Joe, so if you’re out there before we are, hike that too!

Upper State New York is definitely worth the trip! There are gorgeous hikes for all skill levels, waterfalls, lakes, mountains and wildflowers everywhere. Oh and the weather is perfect out there! No humidity at all. So, if you’re a van dweller like us, you’ll love the night temps for sleeping.

Stay tuned for my next post all about New Hampshire- my favorite state of the trip!

Also, I get a lot of Instagram, blogging, editing and making money online questions, so I wrote an e-book all about it! If you’re interested in purchasing it, click here!

Ok bye, love you guys!
